In Malaysia, this ghost is also known as a packed ghost. Pocong depictions vary. It is said that pocong has a green face with an empty eye. Genderuwo is a Javanese myth about a kind of genie or spirits that similar with ape-man who is big and strongly built with reddish black skin and covered with bushy hair growing all over his body. Genderuwo is the most widely known in the community on the island of Java, Indonesia. The habitat of this ghost is usually at watery stones, old buildings, shady big trees or the damp dark corners. Genderuwo is believed to be the idle and obscene creature because of his hobby for teasing people, especially women and children. The origins of genderuwo is believed from the spirits of people who died imperfectly, can be the result of suicide, imperfect burial or accident. So, the person's soul is curious and not willing to accept his death.

Wewe Gombel is a term in Javanese tradition which means evil spirit or ghost who likes to kidnap children but not harm them. It is said that the children who are stolen usually the children who are neglected and ignored by their parents. Wewe Gombel usually will frighten the child's parents over their attitude to their children and after they aware, wewe gombel will return the child. Wewe Gombel is usually depicted with the figure of a wrinkled old woman with long breasts.

Leak

In Balinese mythology, Leak is a wicked wizard. Leak can only be seen at night. In the daytime, it looks like a human being while at night he is at the cemetery to find the organs in the human body to create magic potions.
