Mystery of the Jamison Family Death
The Jamison Family

The Jamison family consisted of the father, Bobby Dale Jamison (44), the mother Sherilyn Leighann Jamison (40), and their daughter Madyson Stormy Star Jamison (6). The family had plans to buy a 40-acre plot of land near Red Oak in the secluded Sans Bois Mountains but then tragedy would happen. The case started oddly. On October 8, 2009, the Jamison family loaded up their truck and set out into the mountains to complete the purchase but then the family disappeared together. Hundreds of volunteers along with dozens of law enforcement officers scoured the area for any sign of the family.

They just found the abandoned truck by the side of the road. The family dog was found in their abandoned truck almost dead from malnutrition. Inside the truck were also the parents’ IDs, cell phones, wallets, and almost $32,000 in cash. Sensing something mysterious, Latimer County Sheriff Israel Beauchamp immediately launched a massive search to the family for several months but the result was nothing. Their bodies were found in 2013, more than four years after they had gone missing. In November of 2013, deer hunters came across the skeletal remains of two adults and a child in isolated area 2.7 miles from where the abandoned truck had been found.

The remains were unidentifiable at first but upon forensic testing, the bodies belonged to Jamison Family and the cause of death was undetermined. The finding of the bodies led to all sorts of speculation. Popular theories include hat they were faking their own deaths, they had gotten lost in the wilderness or died of hypothermia, committed group suicide, was killed by a cult, or were involved in drug dealing.

Another odd finding is the final photo of Madyson found on Bobby Jamison’s cell phone which appears to have been taken up in the mountains on the day of the disappearances. Oddly enough, the Jamisons had previously met with their pastor saying that they had seen spirits in their home and after their disappearance, a witch’s bible was found inside the house. The Jamison case has never been solved with no new leads and with no further suspects or evidence. It is a case with all of the strangeness surrounding that becomes one of the most perplexing and bizarre in United States history.
