Elisa Lam death is one of the unexplained cases along with creepy video evidence. On February 1, 2013, Elisa Lam had been reported missing while staying at the Cecil Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. Maintenance workers at the hotel discovered her dead body on February 19, 2013, from a water tank on top of Cecil Hotel, when they are investigating guest complaints with the water supply. Five days later Los Angeles Police Department released a video of the last time she has been seen in elevator CCTV. The creepy video show as if she was talking and gesturing in the hallway outside when no one there, then hide within the elevator.

The creepy video that released on 14 February 2013 by police went viral. In the video shows Lam enters the elevator and presses nearly all the buttons, but the door remains open Lam peeks out into the hallway, exiting and reentering elevator several times. Then she was talking and gesturing in the hallway outside, and sometimes seeming to hide within the elevator, while the door is still malfunction. Finally, Lam disappearance exit from the elevator, suddenly elevator doors closing behind her.
The circumstances of Lam's death when she was found also raised questions. In addition, Cecil Hotel's history has a relation to other notable deaths and murders. Her body was naked with most of her clothes and personal effects floating in the water near her. Elisa Lam disappearance had been widely reported, after the video, some theories appear that Lam was on drugs, mentally ill, possessed, or even hide from someone or something that cannot be seen on the video.
After the investigation and autopsy, the L.A. County Department of Coroner ruled the death of accidental due to drowning and said no traces of drugs or alcohol were found during the autopsy.
